Hi, hope somebody can help me here.

I downloaded Allegro v2.1, unzipped it, went in to the directory and ran
MAKE. It started ok, as this output shows, but then it all went pear
shaped:

cc -I. -Isrc -Wall -m486 -O3 -o obj/adlib.o -c src/adlib.c
cc -I. -Isrc -Wall -m486 -O3 -o obj/allegro.o -c src/allegro.c
cc -I. -Isrc -Wall -m486 -O3 -o obj/ati.o -c src/ati.c
cc -I. -Isrc -Wall -m486 -O3 -s -o obj/asmdef.exe src/asmdef.c
bj/asmdef.exe src/asmdef.h
riting structure offsets into src/asmdef.h...
cc -I. -Isrc -Wall -o obj/bank.o -c src/bank.S
:/lang/djgpp/tmp\ccbaaaaa: Assembler messages:
:/lang/djgpp/tmp\ccbaaaaa:252: Error: register does not match opcode
suffix
:/lang/djgpp/tmp\ccbaaaaa:269: Error: register does not match opcode
suffix
ake.exe: *** [obj/bank.o] Error 1

I even downloaded it from a different site and got the same error. My
DJGPP.ENV & Path variables have been set correctly.

I hope somebody has had a similar experience and managed to find out the
trouble... if not, can somebody point me in the direction of a pre-
compiled version

Thanks for your time
