Here are somethings that would confuse newcomers. Some of them confused
me, and some of them didnt, but here they are.

* All of the unix stuff. (setdjgpp, fileutils, the directory system,
info)

* How it is packaged. When i first got DJGPP, i didnt know which files to
get. Even after i read
readme.txt i still didnt know what i needed. Turbo C came with it's
IDE, and docs and examples. I know that a lot of packages in DJGPP are
not supposed to go togehter, but
  if there was some way...

* Little documentation. Sure the info files are conprehensive, but they
read like a science
textbook. DJGPP needs a good manual, in a txt or html form. It also
needs a sort of tutorial
manual, that would explain DJGPP from the beggining to end. If someone
could write a tutorial for beggining C programmers that is built
around DJGPP, then DJGPP would not be looked
a compiler that is too complicated to get started out in.

Theses are just some of the things that i have noticed. Im not saying
that these things are bad, after a while I got everything, and I
perfectly happy with DJGPP. Please do not reply with explanations on why
things are the way they are, I understand perfectly.
Maybe if someone put together a package that is just for newbies. it
could contain Everything needed to compile Ansi C programs, RHIDE, a
couple of examples, and maybe some docs. Then distrubute it around upload
it to a site. We then in turn could upload it to BBS's around the country
and spread it around. If we make it as easy as it can be to get started,
newbies will fall in love with DJGPP and get the whole thing.
