If we really wanted to make the channel work, we should use one of the
smaller 'nets like AnotherNet or StarNet.
AnotherNet only has three servers (all in US) no bots, illegal
trading, fast acting cops and best of all, no lag.
Their servers are at
neato.ca.us.another.net
sunrise.ca.us.another.net
together.vt.us.another.net
If the 'net needed to be international (most likely it will) then
IceNet would do great, with servers US,EU and AU
- irc.us.icenet.org - United States Server
- webfire.us.icenet.org - United States Server
- slurpee.us.icenet.org - United States Server
- phat.us.icenet.org - United States Server
- webserve.us.icenet.org - United States Server
- nemesis.us.icenet.org - United States Server
- zip.au.icenet.org - Australian Server
- sydney.au.icenet.org - Australian Server
- acid.uk.icenet.org - European Server
Although it seems a little short on the EU side, eh?
Both of these have low traffic, few splits and low lag, channel
services and nick services. If a #DJGPP channel is seriously going to
be formed, these are the places it should go.
