This has already been done by others.  (That's what is great about Emacs: 
almost anything you could think of is already there!) There is a package
called (not surprisingly) `pc-select.el' in your lisp directory.  Read the
comments at its beginning and do what they tell you.  (Usually, just `M-x
pc-selection-mode RET' is enough, but do read those comments.)

There is a mailing list `help-gnu-emacs'.  To subscribe, send mail to
