Emacs is a universal editor which exists, in various versions, on just about
every operating system.  It is REALLY EASY to use, though, admittedly, takes
some work to learn.  If you do not want the full blown fully powered Indy500
model try any of the clones.  I ported MicroEMACS to DJGPP last year and I
think someone put it on the web site.
