ftp://ftp.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/gnu/djgpp/v2/faq201b.zip
http://www.delorie.com/djgpp (I'm not sure what the exact name is here, but
it's easy to find - look at the Weekly Mini-FAQ for the correct URL.)
>I have retrieved faq201s.zip. (Not straightworward, since the "usual sources"
>i.e Simtel, to which we are so often pointed in this group are still of
200!".)
You should get faq201b.zip, not faq201s.zip. The 's' file contains the
texinfo *source* of the FAQ, with a makefile to compile it in info, text, html,
ps, and dvi formats. The 'b' file contains the actual info, text, and html
versions. The info version can be read with 'info.exe' in txi360b.zip, the
text version can be read with any text editor and printed therefrom, and
the html version can be read with any web browser. Please tell us what
is unclear about this.
As far as the numbering goes, the new version of the FAQ had to be
called something, didn't it? :) It would have been too confusing to
keep the same name for a substantially revised version. Since it
is the _only_ version of the FAQ that remains on SimTel, it shouldn't
be too hard to figure out that it's the right one to download. Or at least,
I imagine that's what Eli thought. :)

You got the wrong file. But if you really care, the makefile requires just
two things: the makeinfo program that comes with txi360b.zip, and the
sed program that comes with sed118b.zip.

The standard distribution doesn't come with the postscript and dvi versions,
but several people that I know of have compiled such versions and made
them available for ftp or www. The FAQ itself mentions several methods
of creating printable forms of all the DJGPP documentation (read the info
version).
