They must be normal .zips.  I extract them on a Unix machine (SGI).

You must.  Since there are no virus scanners for DJGPP programs, I
must rebuild every module I receive from sources.  Don't bother
including any pre-built libraries or binaries; I delete them when I
extract the zip.

print an escape sequence and see if the cursor moves.
