The first time that I run a program I get a:

Unknown driver type in adapter.

message. Everytime after that I just get an General Protection Fault.
Any ideas? I am using the Number 9 GXE (ISA) board which is an S3
chipset. So I tried:

set GO32=drivers VESA_S3 // I also tried with the .GRN extension

but this does not help.
