I use pure virtuals with 1.12m4 without problems! Are you sure you don't try to 
create any object of the base-class with the pure virtual function? This is not 
allowed, even if you only call the existing functions.

Try to write a short test-example, it will work. Maybe you'll recognice your 
problem writing this test-classes. If you even can't get such a short peace of 
code to work, post it or mail it to me, I'll check why.
