Subject:	Help a New Guy Out

Hi,
	I'm new to the pc/programming world, and am taking a class in C.
At work, I am unix based so this compiler is attractive where my class is pc baed. My problem is that I have no idea on how to start this compiler. I
have read the readme files, modified the config.sys and autoexec, yet cannot get off the ground. Can anyone help a new guy out?
