Subject: Templates

I tried compiling a program with some tricky usage of Templates and Virtual
functions. However, DJGPP crashed. Before I try to figure out exactly
whats going on, is there some problem with DJGPP and templates?

All use of templates in G++ is tricky: as far as I know, the templates
in G++ are still very unstable. That was certainly true as of 2.6.0.
This discussion ought to be conducted under gnu.g++.bug if you can get
that Usenet newsgroup. (I can't, easily, so that reference may be
wrong. :-( ) Of course if it works under Linux or Sun G++ and not
under DJGPP, then it's clearly relevant here.
You could try using g++ 2.5.7, which may have been a little better
than 2.6.0, although it may not have had templates at all. This is
available on my server, still, at

turnbull.sk.tsukuba.ac.jp, directory pub/djgpp/1.11

I forget the names of the zips, but they're what they should be ;-)
You can also use the URL

http://turnbull.sk.tsukuba.ac.jp/#djgpp

to get to my server.
I'm still looking for a copy (sources or diffs, too, else I can't
put them up) of g++ 2.5.8, which was reputed to be less buggy than 2.5.7.
