Only if the 16-bit object files are in COFF format accepted
by the GNU Ld linker.  They probably aren't, so you can't.
But don't feel too bad: they probably won't run in protected
mode anyway, because 16-bit compilers emit code which will
frequently GP Fault in protected-mode environment.
