Well, I have a copy of vi (not sure where it comes from) that runs nicely
under straight DOS, i.e. without go32. That is quite advantageous IMHO,
because it's small and you can push a shell or two to run djgpp apps
without running out of conventional memory. I've run GNAT and other
djgpp apps using the usual vi ":!" shell push without difficulty.
I can sit on DOS and pretend I'm on Unix. :-)

If nobody knows of an obvious ftp location for this, I'll put it up
on our little server here. But this has to have come from the net
originally, so maybe someone has a site for it. (Duhhh - I'm
_assuming_ this is freely distributable...:-))

Unless you really need to customize and re-compile vi, IMHO this is the
way to go.
