Subject: EMM386 versus Gnu C

As I found before, an EMM386 line in AUTOEXEC.BAT puts the PC into a mode
called (I think) V86 or something, which Gnu C can't run in, and can't switch
back to real mode from. But if I don't put EMM386 in I don't get any upper
memory. But I want to put some of my TSR's in upper memory to save space in
ordinary memory. Please how can I have upper memory and yet be in real mode?

Please also reply to me in person, as I have unsubscribed from djgpp email
group until the New Year so my mailbox doesn't get packed full over my
department's Christmas holiday.
