DJGPP 1.12 is "compatible" with DV/X (i.e. I was able to use a GNU
compiler to produce a 10Mb X client and run it under DV/X with djgpp 1.12.)
The program (run under a DX2 66, 20M RAM) crashes quite frequently under
heavy demands (mode switchings: It installs a 1ms interrupt, and every
1/18.2 secs, call the old realmode DOS ISR; go32 does a lot of paging
(again, switch to realmode;) and mouse/keyboard events.) The program is
the only one run under the XServer, and access memory using VCPI calls.
Other programs (smaller in size and demands) run fine.

If you can write a program that runs happily under DPMI (a must under
djgpp v2.0,) you should have no problem to run it under DV/X.
