Subject: DJGPP-LibGRX Graphics-Card-Support?

Paul--
No 64 bit card was supported by Linux (that is, XFree86) in
anything above SVGA 256 color mode, and this was said to be painfully
slow when compared to almost anything else, as of September. Maybe
it's out by now (they were promising Real Soon Now back then, but they
were *very* grouchy about it), go check comp.os.linux.help or other
comp.os.linux.* Usenet groups.
Nobody in the developer's threads liked S3 cards very much, as I
recall, but they knew they weren't going to be able to avoid them.
The ATI Mach32 card I have I'm quite happy with, but that probably
doesn't help you to decide about the Mach64 which was in no better
shape, maybe worse, than the S3 cards.
As I said, I haven't follwed the news for a while. But I hope
this helps.
