What exactly does system() do ? Is there a way to make it spawn something 
other than COMMAND.COM, for instance, by setting COMSPEC in the 
environment? I looked at system.s in the library source, but that just 
jumps to turbo_assist or such, and turbo_assist just issues int 0x21, 
AH=0xff. Where's the code that handles the interrupt?
