Subject: "Applying" diffs

Have mercy on me; I'm not quite "Unix-studly" yet. :-)

How does one go about "applying" diffs to an original file? Presumably
there are automatic tools for taking a context diff (diff -c) and
generating the resultant file by applying the diff to the original
source, but I haven't been able to scrounge the information from my
(admittedly limited) sources.

It's *got* to be easy; I'm just missing something obvious, right?
