Subject: Useful bug in 3.70/3.69 (should become a feature)
Date: Thu, 28 Apr 1994 16:22:57 PDT
From: "Marty Leisner" <leisner AT sdsp DOT mc DOT xerox DOT com>

I'm using the djgcc make 3.69 on dos and home...

Dos uses ':' as a drive designator...

I'm using VPATH, and VPATH=..:../bsd

doesn't work on DOS.

So I tried:

VPATH=.. ../bsd
and it worked on DOS.

I tried it on Unix with gcc 3.70, and it worked...

This "bug" is useful, and shouldn't go away.

The documentation should read:
A ':' or white space...
under the VPATH entry.
