I have two machines.  One, a 486 runs funs the latest djgpp programs
(.maint4) without any problems, the other is an Everex Step/20 386 with
16Meg ram and a 387.  Both machines run Desqview or Desqview/X, use
QEMM, and otherwise run the same software.  I have the problem you
mentioned on the latter, but not on the former.  This happens for
almost any djgpp compiled program I run (including the compiler) since
version 1.09.  I still have some 1.09 programs on that machine (with
the 1.09 version of go32 bound to them) and they work as expected
(modulo known bugs in that version).

If this is similar to what you've been having, and you find a solution,
please let me know.
