Subject: newsgroups vs. mail

After viewing the postings on newsgroups, it seems to me that
there is really no compelling reason to complicate the current
situation. The mail list is quite satisfactory and is available
to all participants -- experts and newbies alike. The first
rule of mental health is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

By the way, it seems to me that
some advocates of news groups are motivated to avoid newbie questions.
Please, a little professionalism and consideration to rookies is
order. At one time, we were all newbies. I don't think that
there are many, other than DJ himself, who is totally familiar
with all of the features of the compiler and it capabilities.
You can always learn something new from someone else's question
on an application area with which you are unfamiliar.
