Subject: Direct memory access

First of all... I am interested in accessing the text mode memory (at
b800:0000) for bc++ and my color system. How do I do this with
djgpp's gcc port.. e.g. when I type something like char
*scrmem=0xb800:0000 in bc++ how do I do in gcc?

What do I as programmer notice that differs between a dos extended c
and a non dos extended c? More accessible memory?
