1.06 is required to do binary reads and writes through stdin and
stdout.  Binary works for streams opened by the application.

1.06 will have the latest gcc libraries, including iostreams.  Bugs
found in 1.06 alpha are beging incorporated as quickly as my little
fingers can type them in.  There will probably be a pre-release (read
as beta if you like) before the general announcement.
