This doesn't look right ----------------------------------------^^^^^^^^^^

This isn't a problem here (I think we only use it if GAS_MINOR == 9 and 
in a few assembler sources) but I hadn't ever seen it before.  Maybe it's
expected, I don't know.

The patches looked fine to me.  The emu387 eprintf stuff is never used
except for debugging - and I doubt anyone is doing any debugging on it.
