I agree.  I am in the midst of the revisions - the fundamental
malloc package is done, but not the revisions to malldbg.  After
that I will try to hack up the .txh file for somebody to polish. 
It would create more confusion to switch interfaces later than to
wait a bit.  I have to fit all this in somewhere between other
chores.
