ftp works fine. I haven't tried mirror yet, though.

With strace netscape I see "read(12, "227 Entering Passive Mode
(207,2"..., 1024) = 51", which ought to mean that netscape requested
passive mode, and the server obliged.

Yes, ftp and send "pass" gives "ftp: connect: No route to host".

Are you sure? Perhaps a disk crash or something ate gcc281?.zip and
