Subject: Fileutils 4.1 alpha 1 uploaded
Reply-To: djgpp-workers AT delorie DOT com

Hello.

I've uploaded source and binary distributions of Fileutils 4.1 to:

    http://www.phekda.freeserve.co.uk/richdawe/djgpp/fileutils/4.1/

The binaries seem to work fine. Most of the test suite passes; the rest fails
due symlinks, etc. not being supported.

The sources should build on DOS, but I haven't tested that yet. Also test
suite hasn't been modified to work on DOS (lots of tests use <stem>.$$ for
temporary filenames, which clearly doesn't work on DOS for PIDs > 999.)

Here's a list or remaining to-dos:

- Fix tests/dd/Makefile.in to look for skpseek*, not skp-seek*.

- Get tests/ls/time-1 to work.

- Fix test suite to work on DOS - don't use filenames longer than 8+3.
A lot of the tests use <stem>.$$, which is clearly broken 8+3-wise.

- Fix 'make install' - CDPATH errors?

Once these are addressed, I'll do a release. I'll do a documentation
distribution for the actual release.

Please test the binaries out and let me know what you find.

Thanks, bye, Rich =]
