I agree, but you must have read the discussion about %5$s printf
specifier and its effect on translations to some languages.  Even
telling that lack of support for this feature will kill languages such
as Arabic on some platforms didn't convince.  All I was asking for was
to provide as part of gettext a version of printf from glibc, for
those platforms that don't support %5$s, like they already do with
several other functions (memcpy, strcasecmp, mktime, etc.).  Request
denied on the pretense that this will bloat the package...
