Hello.

I used to use VMware to develop libsocket. I don't remember seeing this
problem. libsocket programs ran fine under VMware - well, apart from very
slowly on my K6-2 400MHz.

I did hit major problems debugging DJGPP programs under VMware though - it
used to crash VMware with one of a set of bug numbers reported. I sent them a
test case (sources, which tools to use, etc.), but they never got back to me.
That was with version 2.0 of VMware (and perhaps a couple of point releases
after that) on Linux kernel 2.2.14, RedHat Linux 6.2 hosting Windows '95
(original) or Windows NT 4.0.

I'd be interested to know if these problems have gone or not. I have a limited
amount of time, to upgrade to VMware 3.0, so any info on the debugging
situation would be welcome.

Thanks, bye, Rich =]
