The reason why V2.03 does not show this problem is that there was a change
to filelen.c which stat calls.  If lfn then it uses the 71a6 call to get
the file length.  If you use the V2.03 version (which uses seeks) fstat 
doesn't mess up the position.  It seems that doing some seeks
on the handle before the read conditions it to work?  More testing needed.
