When the gcc exits on XP with lfn=n, the temporary .S file is in the 
temporary directory.  So it seems to fail between creating the .S file and 
executing as.

The executable seems to work fine compiling on NT 4.0 without the TSR,
so I guess it's an XP/library problem :-(
