The only place where this is used is the test suite. That's currently
broken on Linux - well, at least on my Linux box - for other reasons. I
hope to fix that before the next release. Sorry, I forgot about the
breakage. 'dsmcheck' should still work OK, though. If there are any
problems with 'dsmcheck', please let me know.
