I just did a search for this and found a patch sent to the list from
April of this year.  I can add something similar, but I may want to
change it.  I don't think changing the format of the memory handle list
is a good idea (binary compatibility, old modules, etc).  I would 
probably suggest adding a new array with the lengths.  I'll look at it.
