FYI - Patch has been submitted and applied (along with some other DJGPP
tweaks), and should be in libtool 1.4b (to be released before the end of
July). The Multi-Language Branch has also been merged with CVS HEAD, so
soon
'libtool 1.4x' will refer to a *single* version! Joy!

I spent some time in the weekend twiddling the 1.4 release, but I still need
to make the testsuite work. Then again, I'm going for a joint
libtool/automake
release, so I may make a package of libtool 1.4b instead of the released 1.4
(provided that's acceptable).
