You've jogged my memory now. I just looked at an e-mail discussion I had a
while back with someone else who had a problem using wget with my web
pages. We decided in the end that there was a bug in the caching software
used by my ISP - my home pages are accessed via some caching software. I
suppose the real server is behind this cache. I posted a message to the
Unix support group for my ISP, but got no help from my ISP. Someone agreed
with me that it was a bug, though.

I just tried using wget and it worked for me. I'm baffled why it works for
me. Which version of wget are you using? I have 1.5.3, but 1.6 is out. I
wonder if the newer version works better. Alternatively you could use curl
instead. That works pretty well.
