It won't choke as such. But in order to keep the possibility of using
both LF and CRLF text files in the repository, CVS needs to use
binary mode when reading/writing files. The '--text' mode restores
the 'regular' way of operation, that is read non-"-kb" in text mode
(thereby reducing all those files to DOS text).
Since I suspect most DJGPP users will want to keep the latter mode
as default, I'll change my patches to use the current '--text' mode
as default, and add a '--binary' option instead for those wanting the
other behaviour (or maybe I'll add both options and make the default
mode a configure-time decision).
