Yes, but by then I have clicked OK on the error message.

Yes, it was a video disc. However, there are no differences between
video and data discs on DVD. The only requirement is that a video DVD
must contain the directory /video_ts which contains the data for the
movie(s).

One could argue that a disc with that directory is a video DVD, but
that's an unnecessary limitation. A DVD-ROM without that directory
must be a data disc.
