These are bugs in as.exe from the ported Binutils.  Mark posted a few 
days ago (on c.o.m.d., I think) a URL where you can get a patches 
as.exe.  Either download that, or downgrade to Binutils 2.9.5.1.

I'm guessing these are the side effects of the ``has no section'' 
problem.
