You were going to put a test in that would force a compile to fail
merely because of the version of gcc.  If the compile would have
worked anyway, then we shouldn't cause gratuitous errors.

I.e. don't #error just because we *should* have gcc's headers.  Only
#error if we *must* have gcc's headers.
