  Looking at the offset I realized that it was in the .stabstr section of
the exes that the difference 
is, if this can help you.
  Doing the cycle without generating debug info
succeeds. 

   What is rather strange is that the stabstr fields are not aligned at all
so I don't understand where
garbage can be put in :(
