In one of GCC source files I came across a comment:

   because ANSI C says that stdio.h is not supposed to define
   va_list.  stdio.h needs to have access to that data type,
   but must not use that name.  

I've failed to find any relevant information in C99 draft 
(1998 August version), but DJGPP's stdio.h clearly does not
agree with that statement. Can anyone comment this?
