I'd advise strongly *against* using -b (and obviously also -B and -w)
because doing so might cause `patch' to choke.  -bBw is great for a
human, but a sure way to botch `patch'.  I learned it from my own
bitter experience when I submitted such patches to DJ a long time 
ago ;-)
