For me it leads to hanging program when it is run under debugger
in plain DOS (but not in DOS session under WIn95).

Seems that is still system dependant. However I tried bypassing
config.sys and autoexec.bat and issuing minimally needed commands to
get DJGPP working: problem were still there.

I'll test this more perhaps when I'll return home after about a week.
Some differences of system I can mention:  AMD Pentium compatible
processor instead of Intel 200MMX.
