The gxx that comes with djdev links libstdcx.a (short names!).

Since we're using gcc 2.8.1 or better now, should we stop distributing
this gxx file?

to me it looks as gxx and g++ somhow calls gcc with -lstdcx - one x - and
not as you say -lstdcxx.

calling
g++ or gxx (without arguments)
gxx  foo.cc -lstdcxx
g++ foo.cc -lstdcxx
all end up with the errror message cannot open -lstdcx

This beats my intelligibility, but anyway, now I know how to compile from
the command prompt and how to change my makefiles.
