Hi!

When I uploaded ported sources of gcc-2.8.1 and libraries I intentionally
kept original files from GNU distribution (or empty files for newly created
files) with adding ~ to name. You noted that I have left backup files.
I did this to make porting of the next versions more easy. The idea was the
same as Robert used when he uploaded 2.8.0. I found these files usefull
when I begin to port 2.8.1.

How do You think is it really needed to remove these files from final archives?
Of course an alternate way could be archive with diffs.

One more question: why there are 2 directories v2gnu/alpha and v2/alphas?

I'l look also to avoid duplicate files between binary archives.

One problem is that some latest changes created some problems with gcc
I mentioned in note to djgpp-workers mailing list. They are fixed now on my HD.

I'm included in gcc281b.zip a sample of DJGPP.ENV file addapted for gcc-2.8.1.
(in gnu/gcc-2.81 to avoid accidental overwriting user's old file).

Andris
