I want to second this.  I think Daisuke Aoyama deserves a lot of credit 
for the incredibly well-done job.  All the little problems that are 
reported from time to time are less than minor, given that you can run 
Unix scripts and arbitrarily complex Makefiles with almost no changes 
(and the necessary changes get smaller with every new release of the 
port).  Thanks a lot!

Just FYI: I have successfully run configure scripts (which are 
tremendously complex scripts) for several GNU packages with only 2 small 
changes (one of which is unnecessary on LFN platforms).
