   Btw, isn't it high time we upgrade Binutils to the latest version?  It's 
   Binutils 2.7 out there, while we still use 2.5.2.  And Libg++ is also 
   2.7.2 these days...

Speaking of which: binutils 2.7 now uses "smart" code alignment
instead of just using nops.  Now it uses some sequence of longer
1-cycle (486 and up) instructions promising to execute faster.
