Will existing code for "obsolete" > targets be elided from the official sources, or is the code merely > deactivated but otherwise left intact should anyone want to hack it? You'd have to ask. At least, CVS will still have the old code in old branches. The last emacs we've ported was 20.5 so we're way behind anyway.
