> First I think we need a consensus as to what is in error. Right, but the testcase source is the means by which we describe what the "correct" behavior (meaning error cases and successes) is. It also allows us to test our assumptions on various platforms and see what our baseline is. Once we have a testcase that describes how we think the function should operate, we can then proceed to changing the function so that the testcase passes. In other words, we're going to have this conversation in C instead of English ;-)
