I was compiling the wrong file. Warning is generated by: urand = ((double)rand()) / RAND_MAX; urand = ((double)(rand())) / RAND_MAX; urand = ((double)(int)rand()) / RAND_MAX; urand = ((double)((int)rand())) / RAND_MAX; But not by: urand = ((double)(long)rand()) / RAND_MAX; urand = ((double)((long)rand())) / RAND_MAX; Right, MartinS
